About Me

I’ve been an experience designer my entire life. I just didn’t know it at first.
Boise, Idaho is a beautiful city with it’s own vibrant culture (worth visiting if you get the chance), but growing up there meant visits to major themed attractions were few and far between. Nevertheless, every trip to a theme park or science museum was (and still is) a deeply captivating experience for me: a chance to escape into my own imagination and become part of a larger story. At home, I fondly remember taking childhood playtime to the next level by building blanket fort “dark rides” complete with sound effects, dramatic lighting, and humidifier fog, or designing interactive science demonstrations for relatives to enjoy at family reunions.
However, despite most of my interests falling under the umbrella of experience design, it wasn’t until halfway through a mechanical engineering degree at Boise State University that I realized a career in themed entertainment would be a perfect fit. In order to prepare myself for such a diverse industry, I set about designing a custom degree program that would augment and enhance my existing classes with a slew of other useful subjects (everything from technical theatre and business leadership, to psychology and video game design).
Since then, I’ve had the good fortune to be part of some truly phenomenal working and learning opportunities. However, the more I do, the more I realize how much there is still to learn, and I can’t get enough. I love every minute of it! From theme parks and museums, to shopping malls and art installations, I believe themed entertainment is not just a growing industry, but a growing mindset. I know I’ve found my calling here, and I’m eager to jump in and help tell your story!
